Michael Flaherty Proud to Announce Endorsements From Mix of Elected Officials, Labor Unions, Progressive Organizations, and The Boston Globe

This includes endorsements from 21 elected officials, 35 Unions, Planned Parenthood, The Environmental League of Massachusetts, and The Boston Globe.

Boston City Councilor At-Large Michael Flaherty is proud to announce endorsements from a diverse coalition of elected officials, activists, and labor unions. First among these is Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh. Mayor Walsh cited the experience Michael brings to the Council along with his dedication to addressing the needs of diverse constituencies across the city. Michael has also been endorsed by Congressman Stephen Lynch, Suffolk County Sheriff Steve Tompkins, several members of Boston’s delegation at the Massachusetts State House, and many of his Boston City Council colleagues.

Michael also has strong support from organized labor, including endorsements from 35 labor unions. These unions include Boston teachers, policemen, firemen, and some of the largest trade unions in the Greater Boston region.

“As a former member of Teamsters Local #25, I have always been guided by union consciousness and have never failed to support organized labor, including, when necessary, on the picket lines,’ said Michael. “I will never forget the lessons I learned growing up in a Union household. It taught me that every worker deserves representation, and is entitled to the fundamental rights of collective bargaining and workplace dignity. I am committed to those principles as a City Councilor At-large and am proud to stand with working families. .”

Michael has also been endorsed by The Boston Globe, Planned Parenthood, The Environmental League of Massachusetts, and the Ward 5, 9, and 15 Democratic Committees.

“I am proud to be supported by the people and organizations that are on the front lines of the fight for equity for all Bostonians.,” said Michael. “Those endorsing me have a wide range of backgrounds and priorities, but where they can all agree is that Michael Flaherty is the right choice for Boston. With this in mind, I humbly ask for your support on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5th.”
