What:
In 2015, the Gavin Foundation established a rehabilitation facility in Quincy providing acute treatment services, including medically monitored detoxification, and clinical support services to individuals taking their first steps toward sobriety. Initially a partnership with Phoenix House, in December 2017 the Gavin Foundation took full ownership of the 64-bed ATS/CSS facility. In honor of the transition, we will hold a ceremonial ribbon-cutting in Council Chambers at Quincy City Hall.
Who:
Speakers will include Congressman Stephen P. Lynch, Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch and Gavin Foundation President/CEO John P. McGahan. Guests will include City of Quincy Council members and staff, board members from the Gavin Foundation, staff of Gavin Quincy ATC/CSS, program participants and guests. Press are invited to attend.
Why:

On completion of the program clients are guided on the next steps toward sustained recovery. Mayor Koch was instrumental in bringing this state-of-the-art healthcare facility to Quincy. Initially a partnership with Phoenix House, in December 2017 we took full ownership of the program and we are most grateful for the support received from the City of Quincy, Thomas P. Koch, Mayor. Mayor Koch and his team has been working with us to ensure a seamless transition of services. They understand the importance of the treatment center and its benefit to a community hit hard by the opioid epidemic. We are thankful to Mayor Koch for his support of our organization and his commitment to finding solutions that help rebuild and reunite families dealing with addiction.
The Gavin Foundation is a nonprofit agency providing comprehensive adult, youth and community substance abuse education, prevention and treatment programs. The Gavin Foundation offers a continuum of care to individuals, support services to their families, and programs to increase community awareness and acceptance regarding addiction and recovery. Established in South Boston in 1963, we now serve over 10,000 individuals from the Greater Boston area each year.
