The Dedham Institution for Savings Foundation is donating $5,000 to the South Boston Neighborhood House to support their mission of enhancing older adults’ physical health and functioning. This includes fostering greater independence and the ability for older adults to age in place while increasing quality of life and reducing social isolation through personal connections and active engagement in the life of the community. The South Boston Neighborhood House is committed to serving the isolated senior residents of South Boston’s three public housing developments, providing them on-site services for aging in place. Some of the programming featured at “The Ollie,” includes the Boston Police Department Tennis Program. This program encourages participants to have fun while staying active and socializing with their peers.
