Despite Mother Nature’s gloomy mood for the month of June thus far, and the fact that the rain actually did hold off till the end of the event, The South Boston Mom’s Club brought a big ray of sunshine to Marine Park for Family Fun Day. Children of all ages were entertained, participated or spectated in one of the many shows, dances, games, face painting, photo booth, bouncy castles and slides throughout the day.
Along with the ever-popular Bouncy Castle and Giant Slide mentioned above, there were bubble machines that make kids of all ages smile ear to ear. Many of our local businesses were in attendance having fun and handing out giveaways and information.
In the crowd at different times, you could also find the two candidates running for 1st Suffolk District State Representative, David Biele and Matt Rusteika.
It was great fun that the whole family enjoyed together. Walking through the big crowd, it was easy to see that fun was certainly the theme of the day. There was music to please the ears, great food, and the ice cream truck sold lots of Minion and Spiderman ice creams. The shrieks and laughter of happy children filled the air from start to finish.
This event is sponsored by the South Boston Mom’s Club and has become a much-anticipated pre-summer tradition. The South Boston Mom’s Club is made up of our friends and neighbors and work hard to bring joy through a number of events that serve a neighborhood grateful for their wonderful efforts.
When it was over, the kids were exhausted (and of course, the parents were too) from a day of excitement and a big and positive experience at Marine Park, as it has been each and every year. Family Fun Day has been held and will hopefully continue to be for many years to come.
This year marked the 9th Annual. Congratulations to the South Boston Mom’s Club for another year of success and a job well done. Bravo!
