Jesuit Deacon Adam Rosinski, SJ celebrated his First Mass with us at the 10:30AM Mass at St. Brigid Church on Sunday, September 16, 2018. We welcome him to our Parish Staff. Deacon Adam will assist us with our Masses, Baptisms and Weddings.
Adam grew up in Philadelphia, the oldest of 4 siblings. He first met the Jesuits while an undergraduate at the University of Scranton, and after graduating, he worked for a short time as a high school teacher before entering the Jesuit order in 2009. In addition to studying for the priesthood, Adam has spent parts of his Jesuit formation as a Teacher, Coach, Campus Minister, Sports Chaplin and Spiritual Director. Currently, Adam is finishing his theology studies at Boston College and was ordained a deacon by Cardinal Sean O’Malley on September 15. Adam enjoyed visiting St. Brigid and Gate of Heaven Parishes last year with his friend, Deacon (now Father) Patrick Nolan and is excited to spend his diaconate year in South Boston.
It is not too late to Register your child for the St. Brigid and Gate of Heaven Parishes and Religious Education Sacramental Program that is a two-year program in accordance with archdiocesan guidelines. For those students enrolling in 1st or 2nd grade for the first time who were not baptized in either St. Brigid or Gate of Heaven Church, please provide a copy of your child’s baptismal certificate. Please note that first grade parents should enroll their children in the First Grade Program in order for their child to receive their sacrament of First Holy Communion in the Second Grade Program in 2020. We have wonderful programs for children in Kindergarten thru to Grade 6.
Class time is Sunday mornings from 9 to 10:15AM at South Boston Catholic Academy at 866 East Broadway.
Our next classes will be held on Sunday morning, October 14, 2018. The children must attend the 10:30AM Mass following class. We encourage parents/guardians to attend 10:30AM Mass following class with your child as a family.
