Neighborhood Coffee Hours give residents a unique opportunity to speak directly with Mayor Walsh and staff from City departments. Mayor Walsh looked forward to hearing from the residents of the South Boston community at his annual coffee hour held this year at Joe Moakley Park on May 22, 2019, regarding how the City of Boston can improve upon local parks, public areas and City services.
The Parks and Recreation Department provided free coffee and breakfast treats provided by Dunkin’, as well as fresh fruit from Star Market. Each family received a flowering plant grown in the City’s greenhouses as a gift from Mayor Walsh. The Mayor facilitated giveaways and raffle items with prizes from Dunkin’. The City of Boston provided information on City programs from:
- the Boston Public Library
- Boston Public Schools
- the Boston Police Department, and
- Boston Centers for Youth & Families.
Coffee hours are held from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., unless otherwise noted. For more information and updates on possible weather cancellations, please contact Parks and Recreation at 617-635-4505.
