The end of summer celebration (or lamentation, if you will), presented by Massport and the Boston Police Department is always a well-attended and fun time for families and residents, who have enjoyed the safety of the Curley Center as well as South Boston’s wonderful waterfront and beach areas.
Rocking to the tunes of the Linehan Brothers, there was ice cream, Dave the Sausage Guy, and Popcorn with Rolly to satisfy any cravings. Save the Harbor Save The Bay members, a perennial partner in all things along South Boston waterfront, were on hand educating kids and providing crafts, including Mr. Balloon twisting his way into the hearts of children making dogs, cats, hats and of course swords.
Local elected officials stopped by mingling among the BPD community service police officers who were present. Candidates for State Representative David Biele and Matt Rusteika were shaking hands and greeting Moms, Dads and children in search of votes.
BCYF thanks all of the volunteers, who always make the day a smooth-running operation.
