On Thursday, May 24, friends and family members gathered in front of Catherine “Kay” (Glavin) White’s home on Midland Street in Savin Hill to celebrate her 95th birthday. Her son, Father Joseph “Joe” White, celebrated the Mass. It was a fitting birthday event for such a wonderful woman who epitomizes the Catholic faith and what makes the family so important to society and God.
“Recently my family members were watching a Celtics’ playoff game at my mom’s house,” said Father Joe. “One of my nephews asked her what her favorite sport was, and she replied ‘Mass’. And later when I asked her what she wanted to for her birthday, said she wanted to attend Mass, so we brought the Mass to her.” Father Joe, as usual, did a tremendous job saying the Mass. Afterwards, those on attendance, wished Kay a happy birthday and enjoyed good food, laughs, and some nostalgic, heartwarming stories.
