Not a seat available in Florian Hall for the steady stream of guests in support of Congressman Stephen Lynch in his bid for re-election to a 10th term serving the Ninth Congressional District. Elected officials and candidates for office from the many cities and towns in the district is testimony to the fine reputation that ‘Our’ Congressman from South Boston has and the job he is doing in Washington DC on our behalf.
The Honorable Clerk Michael Donovan introduced the Congressman to a loud and prolonged ovation. Some of the dignitaries and guest included Register of Deeds Steven Murphy, the Sheriff of Norfolk County, Mike Bellotti, District 2 Councilor Ed Flynn, Senator Walter Timilty and Governor’s Councilor Bob Jubinville among others.
The Congressman stated that he would like to “work more across the aisle” in Washington DC and believes that it can and must be done. He does not agree with most of the president’s decisions but believes that we do need to be careful about who is coming across at the borders.
The 8th Congressional District includes, in addition to South Boston South End, and Dorchester, Braintree, Canton, Cohasset, Dedham, Holbrook, Milton, Norwood, Quincy,
Randolph, Avon, Stoughton, Walpole, Westwood, Weymouth, Abington, Bridgewater, Brockton, East Bridgewater, Hingham, Hull, Scituate, West Bridgewater, Whitman and Raynham. As one can see there is a lot of ground and political spectrum to cover.
