“The people in the caravan were offered asylum, jobs and even medical attention by the Mexican government. They refused. Therefore, by definition, they are NOT refugees.” These are the sentiments not only of some Mexican government officials, but also of millions of Americans who are tired of watching hordes of illegal aliens rushing our borders and demanding entry and all the benefits of US Citizenship. They are also tired of having their tax dollars foot the bill to support them. Cruel? Heartless? The advocates who so vocally use those terms to describe Americans who feel this way never step up themselves and offer to take the illegals in. How many from the caravans will Barbara Streisand, Alec Baldwin, Nancy Pelosi and Stephen King take into their homes? We all know the answer to that question is, of course, none.
Pictures can be photo-shopped pretty easily but it’s a lot more difficult to fake live video from the scene. It’s estimated that nearly 80% of those in the caravan are young men of military age. This can clearly be seen by watching the live footage and it’s being confirmed by Mexican, as well as Honduran officials. Yet, the news cameras tend to interview the relatively small numbers of mothers with small children in a deliberate attempt to pull at the heart strings of the American public to gain sympathy and acceptance of the approaching migrants.
Early on, the news stopped showing how the males in the caravans were hurling rocks and bottles at Mexican police and ripping down border fences. They hide reports of MS-13 and members of other criminal gangs being among the throngs heading north.
Ronald Reagan once said, “A nation without borders will soon cease to be a nation”. Is there still any doubt that this is exactly what many liberals, including many liberal Democrat politicians, want to see happen to the United States? America is a nation of immigrants we are so often told, and that’s true. But there is a stark distinction between immigrants, who come here legally by following the law, and those who feel they can just crash through our border security and pour into our country uninvited and unvetted, while others who do follow our laws wait in line, like all of our ancestors had to do.
So, the question still remains, and those advocates of open borders just won’t answer when asked: How many illegals will you take into your homes? How many will you house, feed, clothe, educate and provide medical care for. It’s a fair question to ask of these celebrities and so called progressive private citizens, who chastise working American families for being cold hearted, because they have had enough of watching their hard-earned tax dollars being used to do all of the above, while their own family members often go without. Still waiting for answers. The sound of crickets is getting louder.
